6 Inspiring Reasons to Dance

There are many brilliant reasons to dance, so let’s have a look at some of them….

1. Physical Health

There is no doubt that moving our bodies is good for us. Moving regularly keeps our blood flowing and our muscles strong to support us in our daily activities. We wouldn’t want to drink stagnant water, and we certainly don’t want our bodies to become stagnant. They can of course, fascia can build up. You can see this wonderfully inspiring video here (not for the faint-hearted!) explaining what fascia is and why we need to keep moving to keep it at bay. So find a way to move and shake those limbs daily!

2. Mental Well-being

Physical activities are a great way to neutralise mental negativity, worries or doubts. Top that off with music to lift your spirits and you’re onto a winning recipe for happiness. Get grooving and you’ll soon be so immersed in moving that you’ll be having a lovely respite from your worries.

 3. Social Interaction

We are social beings and we thrive when we are together. We energise and inspire each other. Being surrounded by people on the same mission as you, also provides encouragement and support. So why not find a local dance class to attend or get together with some friends for a night out and get motivated by each other.

4. Learning & Growing

Whether you are learning a whole new dance style, or revisiting a well-practised one, there are always new things to learn. Plus, your body and mind are different every day, and by dancing you can learn how to adapt yourself and be fully present in each moment.

5. Connect with your Inner Child

Children love to dance. They are always the first ones rocking the dance floor. Children don’t care what people think, they don’t even know people have opinions! We used to be the same, it was our world, we were the centre and we danced and spun because we could! Connecting to our inner child (they ARE still in there) is a great way of filling us with a carefree and playful mindset.

6. Feel Empowered

All these reasons listed above will empower you in some way. Whether you have faced a fear by going to a new class, meeting new people, challenging your body to something you didn’t know it was capable of, or finding your fun inner child. All the brave things we do make us feel braver for other ventures in life. So let’s keep on being brave! And dance….
