This is why I have been absent for a while on my blog. I have been busy….. exploring……
To Plan or not to Plan
I have been wondering recently about my not having a great plan in life, until I remembered that I don’t do plans. They have never floated my boat. Planning is not in my DNA.

So why did I have the idea that I suddenly need a life plan? I’ve no idea! Perhaps I overheard someone saying a plan is good. Maybe it’s my mid-thirties age, or motherhood expectancies, who knows? Anyway, let’s just get back to the fact that I don’t do plans. Life is far too interesting and varied to plan. And I am….
Too spontaneous to plan
Take for example my grey hair post. I did extremely well in growing out my greys for 4 whole months! I went through the emotions of accepting my changing age and accepting that my greys are really sparkly are really rock! Then one day, I saw them in a new light, and thought ooh they would take a crazy coloured hair dye so well! Let’s have a go at purple… So much for letting my greys grow out. But I have learned to accept them, and even more of myself, on this short 4 month journey.

So what’s next?
Firstly, the purple is already fading, and I shan’t predict what will be next for my hair. However, as I mentioned in a previous post I was gearing myself up to attend a open mic, playing my ukulele and singing. And the great news is that I did. Twice. I still get a bit scared at the thought of going, but I continue to go regardless. It is the only way I will nudge towards my goal of performing more. (see I do love goals, just not plans!) And I am also on a mission to learn flamenco – it has been on my to learn list for years, and now is a good time to learn.
Goals, not plans.
Maybe to some people a goal is a plan, and perhaps it is just the wonder of this English language we speak that we can mean so many things using the same words, but we just have to find words and ways that sit well for us. So…
I love goals. And exploring…
What about you?
